| From: Brian Gale, DPM to Podiatry ONLINE ( www.smartfoot.com ) I would like to invite Aaron Olson, DPM or anyone else who believes they think I am at fault in any way to use your open forum to bring these issues before everyone to see. I am very confident about the issues involved here. This is one of the reasons that I have presented the actual documents to you and everyone to read for themselves. I have nothing to hide and everything to gain by publicly exposing the illegal actions that have taken place. I spent four years at my residency program in Philadelphia. I was told several times during my residency that jealous podiatrists and orthopedic surgeons would attack me any time they had the chance. Aaron Olson is the President of the North Dakota Board of Podiatric Medicine and has been for about 15 years. He asked me to join his practice in 1992 after being the only podiatrist in Bismarck since he started practicing there. The patient draw for this area is about 250,000 people. I find it very unusual that no one else would want to practice here. In fact I was told by one podiatrist that when he approached Aaron about opening a practice in Bismarck several years ago, that Aaron told him "I'll fight you for every patient". Aaron has only been able to get away with this because Bismarck is an isolated community. The closest towns larger than 50,000 people are three and six hours away. It's a classic controlled situation. The other podiatrists in the state wouldn't dare try cross him because they are concerned he would do the same thing to them as he has done to me. I plan on proving that the reason for all of this is that I have more training than anyone else in the area where I practice and that doctors have conspired to force me out of practice and out of town. If Aaron or any one of the other board members; Drs. Mike Stone (Fargo, ND), Lee Hofsommer (Fargo, ND), Robert Deckert (Minot, ND) or Doug Moen (Bismarck, ND) would like to make a statement about what and why that believe I have done something wrong I think now is the time for them to speak up. If they say anything at all it will be that "it's in the appeal process so we can't talk about it". I say to them that the record is closed and the Board members don't have anything else to do with it at this point. The tactics they have used against me are anti-trust tactics. For those of you who aren't familiar with anti-trust is has to do with creating a monopoly and/or forcing people/doctors out of business by not allowing them to run their business or practice. I strongly encourage any podiatrists who feel they have been treated unfairly to contact me so I can give them the knowledge that I have acquired during this painful process. I am working with two other specialists (non-DPM) so far. Brian Gale, DPM, FACFAS Brian@briangale.com |
