The story of Dr. Gale is indeed a symptom of the problem in our profession. I wish him well as he fights for his
right to practice and serve his patients.
The APMA helps not one of the individuals who is attacked by other pods or healthcare professionals. State
Boards can "flunk" applicants because of their knowledge, school of graduation, race, who knows and the APMA
will not lift a finger. I guess they figure better to help the gang of nasty pods rather than one victim since they
depend on dues to survive. When I quit the APMA that was my impression.
Most people in Dr. Gale's situation would have thrown in the towel and got outta town. He stands up to them
and he should be congratulated.
If all podiatrists would see the damage in killing each other we can only start to see a profession that will grow.
On the web I have seen stories from the UK, Australia, etc. where pods file complaints against each other like
we in the States do.
The APMA must stand with the practitioners, they should even lobby the government on the student loan issue.
How can one pay when he/she gets so little payment from Medicare, etc.?
Enough said,
Best wishes to all.
