It's Time To Put An End To The Persecution Of Dr. Gale By The ND Board! |

by John L. Trench III, DPM (no login) How many years of Brian Gale's life have been blighted by this apparently entirely unfounded (and possibly illegal and actionable) action being undertaken by the ND Board? How much money has Brian Gale been forced to spend the defend himself against actions taken upon the basis of "complaints" that according to the assessment of independent reviewers present not one single detail that even HINTS at a violation of standard of care? How much damage has Brian Gale suffered to his reputation as a result of "complaints" that did not result in a single malpractice suit, a single disability claim--or for that matter, a single complaint filing independent of prompting by involved professional parties? How much strain has he had to endure personally? How much strain has his family been forced to endure? How much strain has his marriage been forced to endure? And it doesn't stop at just Brian Gale. There are people like Rich Willner, who have unselfishly and unswervingly devoted themselves to helping Brian Gale to preserve his license and restore his reputation. How much has this vendetta in North Dakota cost them? Look at the work Dr. Willner has done on behalf of Brian Gale, posted to this forum, on the Brian Gale website, posted to "Podiatry Online" and other e-newsletters. Look at all of the "behind the scenes" efforts he has expended for a man he never knew before this matter, a man he was initially skeptical of, but whose innocence was proven by the evidence--Dr. Willner's actions, support, and loyalty speak to the highest ideals of the medical profession. What strain has he endured? What has it cost him personally, financially, professionally? Finally, what has this cost our profession? Does ANYBODY fail to see the terrible face this puts on podiatric medicine and surgery? It is time for this to stop. Past time, in fact--LONG past time. Justice demands that the action by the ND Board be ended, his reputation cleared, and his license restored. Justice demands that the Board members involved in this action be investigated and brought to answer for this travesty. Hang in there, Dr. Gale--you will prevail. God bless you, Dr. Willner--you are truly an honorable man, and a credit to the profession of medicine. And God help us all if this doesn't stop soon. John Posted to Podiatry Forum, Nov 1, 2000 |
