Podiatrist Named to
Podiatric Board
Wednesday June 28, 2000
Governor Ed Schafers office announced Tuesday that he
has appointed a new member to the ND Board of Podiatric Medicine. Dr.
Richard A. Lochner of Grand Forks was appointed by Schafer, said executive
assistant Naomi Myrdal.
Myrdal said Lochner has practiced podiatry, the
treatment of feet, since 1989 at Altru Medical Clinic in Grand Forks.
Lochner replaces Dr. Lee Hofsommer, the outgoing
secretary-treasurer. Hofsommer stood in for board president Dr. Aaron
Olson of Bismarck during disciplinary proceedings against Bismarck
podiatrist Dr. Brian Gale. Olson recused himself due to potential
conflict, because Gale was a former employee of Olson. Gale has complained
that board members who investigated his case have served on the board for
consecutive terms.
