The vote was positive and the committee is apparently being formed. I don't really have any more information about what will happen now, however I would like to thank everyone for their input and support. At this time I'm asking that there be no more negative comments about the APMA because they are now taking action. I believe the APMA does work for its constituents and I understand that this is a very sensitive issue in that they will be looking into the actions taken by the individual NDBPME doctors. For that reason Dr. Lepow and the APMA Board could not be expected to have "jumped in" prematurely. Please congratulate the APMA with me for doing what others who should have done long ago, didn't do. Thank you. Brian Gale, DPM Brian@Briangale.com ______________________________ From: Brian Gale, DPM Subj: APMA Board of Inquiry/North Dakota I have now received official notice from Ron Lepow, DPM, President of the American Podiatric Medical Association that a Board of Inquiry has been formed to investigate the actions of the individual doctors who make up the North Dakota Board of Podiatry. For those or you who are not familiar with the APMA, it is the largest and the main organization of Podiatrists in the United States consisting of approximately 10,000 members. See their web site for more information about the APMA http://www.apma.org A vote was taken by the Board of the APMA to form a committee. The vote was positive and now the committee (Board of Inquiry) will be formed and begin to review the specifics of what has happened. I don't have any more information at this time however I was told by Dr. Lepow that someone would be contacting me this week. There are other national organizations that are considering the possibility of an investigation as well. We should applaud Dr. Lepow and the APMA Board for taking a step that others in North Dakota should have taken long ago. Thank you for all your support and when a final decision is made or if something else happens of importance I will notify you. Brian Gale, DPM Brian@Briangale.com _____________________________ From: Brian Gale, DPM Subj: APMA Board of Inquiry/Purpose There have been some questions about the purpose of the APMA Board of Inquiry so I thought I would try to clarify them. I have not asked the APMA and I don't believe the APMA is planning to investigate the North Dakota Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. I have asked the APMA to initiate a Board of Inquiry regarding potential unethical actions that the individual members of the NDBPME may have taken. If there are any other questions about the Board of Inquiry I would suggest that the APMA's attorney be contacted. Brian Gale, DPM Brian@Briangale.com |
