The Honorable Governor Schafer:

I feel that Dr. Brian Gale has been treated very unfairly by the Board of
Podiatry. This Board can not possibly be considered unbiased with Dr. X as
the president, due to the history these two have. Dr. Gale supplied a lot
of material in his defense disputing these allegations. I don’t feel that
the Board could have read and studied these papers and still have come to
the decisions it did. There were too many conflicting dates and other
discrepancies for these to have been duly considered.

I am of the understanding that according to the North Dakota Century Code
the members of this Board are supposed to change one member every year. The
members of the Board have remained the same for many years. It is past due
to replace the current members. It is for situations like this that our
system of checks and balances was developed. How can a board be fair and
not become prejudiced and stagnant when there is never any new input? I am
also of the understanding that this board is appointed by your office.
Isn’t it time to look into this board and make sure they are following the
codes of our state so this type of witch hunt doesn’t ever happen to anyone
else?

My son and daughter have both been patients of Dr. Brian Gale. he was above
reproach in his treatment of my children. I would trust him far and above
the other podiatrists in this city. I have also worked in his office. He
is a very compassionate and concerned doctor. I would really hate to see
his life ruined because no one will take the time or accept the
responsibility to make sure this is stopped. What if this were your
relative that was being persecuted by an unfair board? Would this case be
shelved then or would action be taken? This man’s livelihood is being
stolen unjustly and he, as a citizen of this state, deserves the time and
effort to set this matter straight. Thank you for your time and I hope you
will think of this as a person’s life and not just a case.

Sincerely,
