A HISTORY LESSON REMEMBERED!
Once upon a time, back in the twenties, another obscure devious minded character gained power in his locality through deceit and manipulation, rising to a level of political control, which became unchallenged because of fear from possible retribution. Slowly but methodically he quashed his opponents, one by one, with the aid of his few cronies; using every nefarious contrivance, political and economic, until he rose to the top of the leadership, whereupon he was able to unleash a reign of terror and havoc amongst his own countrymen, which ultimately spread to those communities beyond his borders. Though the "Little Corporal" and his followers were eventually brought down by a greater force, who spoke out in defiance, to the inequities and atrocities of that reign, the historical epitaph reads clearly of the price that was paid for the indifference and apathy to it's beginnings! History has a way of repeating itself.....Examine the facts existing In the state of North Dakota surrounding the power and control being wielded by some members of the Board of Podiatry and the political/economic persecutions that they foster upon their targeted local constituents! Can others in this profession, in all good conscience, afford to turn their backs on this issue and allow it to fester unabated? I think not! A just cause requires the majority to act and speak out in protest with great fervor, until the perpetrators can be identified and their motives and actions be vanquished! Burton C.
