NDBPM Meeting 11/15/00 |
|
The
Board threw out two of the complaints and are planning on going forward with
the other four unless I can convince them that they shouldn't between now
and 12/1/00.
I have been graciously allowed two weeks to give them any information I want to supply them with between now and then. So essentially what they're asking me for is to give them every reason that I can think of for them not to proceed with these complaints so that they can then think of other reasons. Can you imagine anyone who says "We are going forward with the complaints against you but we're not going to tell you why." ..but then again they are the administrative agency and they can do anything they want as long as they act like they are following the rules . They said that one of the Board members looked at the new complaints and decided they were bad enough to go to a formal hearing. Did I tell you that all the patients were seen by current or recently resigned board members or board members? Did I tell you that there weren't any complaints against me for a couple of years while the Board was dragging me through the administrative process? Then after they finally disciplining me for complaints from 1994 in the year 2000, there are immediately six new complaints that get sent in within six months. And they're all from patients who were being seen by board members. Some of them were seen by me last time 8 years ago. The usual process is that they ask for any information I can give them to rule out certain issues with the patients and rule in other issues that I didn't raise. It's the classic chasing your tail phenomenon. The most interesting part of the meeting was when they had elections. Guess who was re-elected as the President of the Board? That's right Aaron Olson. And the second most interesting part was that the new board member, John Lochner, DPM fell right in place with the good ole boys . If you haven't seen our web site take a look at www.briangale.com and if you want to see what's happening on the national level with peer review take a look at www.peerreview.org or www.semmelweissociety.org. There is a resolution being submitted next month at the national AMA meeting in regards to sham peer review. This is now a federal issue and the hundreds of doctors and other professionals who have been abused by the peer review process are joining together to bring this problem to the forefront.
