||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Posted to Podiatry ONLINE Newsflash 7/15/2000 From: Brian Gale, DPM Attorney General Mazurek, I have seen the Dateline episode involving Dr. Wolfe. I understand from the information provided from Dateline that you are in agreement that Dr. Wolfe was not doing anything illegal. I also understand that if the County Attorney involved, Robert Eddleman continues to proceed with the prosecution of Dr. Wolfe, that it will have a chilling effect on any medical professionals helping in situations similar to the one with Dr. Wolfe. I realize that you hold Dr. Wolfe's fate in your hands. Although you seem to be clearly on his side in this matter, I don't understand why you are allowing Mr. Eddleman to proceed. Obviously, you know the facts much better than I do. Please use the proper avenues and your position to stop the County Attorney from destroying Dr. Wolfe's life. This gentleman has suffered enough for doing a good deed. There are plenty of "bad people" out there that you and Mr. Eddleman can make better use of with the state of Montana's resources. Let's put an end to this. Sincerely, Brian Gale, DPM _________________________
From: Richard Willner, DPM Interesting information following my call to the office of Dr Andy Wolfe. He is still at his cabin in the mountains but I spoke to the office manager. I called his office on Monday, 3 days after the Dateline piece aired. Although he has received calls from ODs and DCs, he received virtually no calls from DPMs. Our Leadership at APMA did what they do best which is to ignore him. What is significant to me is to hear that Andy, in the past, has saved a child from a Black Bear attack. Andy is a Podiatric Hero, not a Criminal. Incidentally, his legals have cost $4,000 for the last 8 months and they have been paid for by the homeowners. Compare that to the $250,000 spent by Brian and the estimated loss of business of over six figures. This story is developing.... Richard Willner, DPM _____________________________ From: Brian Gale, DPM I talked to Andy tonight for about 45 minutes. He says his lawyer doesn't want him to talk about anything. I told him I've heard that and followed it for the past 7 years. Look where it got me. He also said his lawyer said don't talk to Dateline. I think the lawyers in general don't want to let anyone outdo them especially their clients own efforts without any legal help. Does that make sense or is it too cynical? Andy can not ask for letters but I am asking for letters to be sent to the AG of Montana and the County Attorney. Here are the addresses and phone #'s: Robert Eddleman County Attorney Stillwater County Attorney General Joe Mazurek This guy needs our help. The impression I got from him is that he will ultimately win for sure but it may cost him 100k if it goes to trial. We can help put an end to it and save him a lot of money and time lost. The other DPM in town is bad mouthing Andy according to rumors (what else is new?). The Attorney General is on his side and is pushing to stop the County Attorney who is the one that is trying to take Andy down. Andy has the support of all the patients that lived through the accident and all the family members of living and dead people involved. The Sheriff and other police on the scene support Andy's actions. The only people who are causing him trouble are the EMT staff because supposedly the town people said the EMT people didn't know what they were doing. Andy can be
